Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex of Daesoonjinrihoe
This temple complex is located in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province.
Surrounded by low mountains, the temple complex has a warm and cozy ambience.
The temple complex was built in November 1986, and the current Bonjeon (main building) and Daesoon Assembly Hall were added in 1990 due to a rapid increase in the number of disciples.
After moving the headquarters from Junggok to Yeoju in February of 1993, the former temple complex in Yeoju was finally recognized as being worthy of re-designation through having its status elevated from 'temple complex' to 'headquarters.' There are 40 buildings harmoniously arranged in their stately glory on the site of 165,000m².
Most mafor rituals and events such as Gongbu, Sugang, Chiseong (Devotional Offereing) and Bonbuseong are performed at this location.
*Gongbu: the most important form of spiritual cultivation which is performed by a team of 36 participants who devotedly recite certain incantations for 24 hours without a break. It has been carried out since the Summer Solstice of 1991 and continues into the present day.
*Sugang: a three-day enducational course performed by a team of 72 members to enhance their qualifications as disciples.
*Chiseong (Devotional Offering): a ritual ceremony to show one's gratitued with utmost sincerity for the grace of Sangje and other great deities.
*Bonbuseong: a monthly event in which the representatives of executives dedicate offerings collected from general members for Gucheon Sangje.
Cheonggye Pagoda
This pagoda is a symbolic visual representation of the cosmological view of Daesoon Jinrihoe. This is consists of four main parts: the pedestal, lower body, upper body, and top.
>The pedestal part is composed of three layers. The first layer is engraved with 'Ox Seeking Pictures(Simudo)' that represent our cultivation process while the second one has the Fou Deity Pictures (Sashindo) that represent the four seasons and four directions. The third one depicts the Twelve Deities of the Chinese Zodiac (Sibijisindo) that correspond to the twelve months and twelve directions.
>The upper body consists of seven quadrangular layers engraved with twenty-eight divinities in charge of th constellations.
>The top consists of nine round layers which represent the Ninth Heaven, the highest place that coordinates the whole universe. Humans are beings born to cultivate theselves to realize the underlying principle of the universe and become one with it. The pagoda was built to celebrate the establishment of Yeoju Temple Complex in October 1986.
Bonjeon
This is the main sanctuary building with Yeongdae on the top fourth and highest floor where Gucheon Sangje and the other 14 Great Deities are enshrined. Bonjeon is a four-story building that visually appears to only be three stories high. Various ritual ceremonies and events are held in this building.
